The animal that's right for you

Whether you are a beginner or already own a reptile, here is a simple guide to helping you find the right reptile for you.

Bearded Dragon

Ease of care: Beginner

The Bearded Dragon (Pogona vitticeps) generally has a very passive nature making them ideal for both new and experienced keepers. Bearded Dragons are a semi-arboreal species so enjoy burrowing in substrate but in their natural habitat will also be seen in trees to gain a better view of their surroundings. Be sure to add lots of substrate, plants and branches to their enclosure. Bearded Dragons can be selectively bred to create either a specific colour, appearance, pattern or combination of all three, referred to as a morph. Popular types of morph are Leatherback, Zero and Dunner.
