The animal that's right for you

Whether you are a beginner or already own a reptile, here is a simple guide to helping you find the right reptile for you.

Yemen Chameleon

Ease of care: Intermediate

The Yemen (veiled) Chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus) is not as colourful as its Panther Chameleon cousin but still can be found in a wide range of striking greens, often with yellow stripes or patches. Chameleons are an arboreal species, meaning they live in the trees, so can be found in their natural habitat above ground in tree canopies. Make sure you add lots of plants and branches to their enclosure so they feel at home. Chameleons have unique eyes which can move independently of one another and provide 360-degree vision. They can also shoot their tongues out approximately 2.5 times their body length to capture their insect prey off-guard.
