Crested Gecko
Ease of care: Beginner
The Crested Gecko (Correlophus ciliates) will be found in their natural habitat in the trees, venturing out during the early evening and throughout the night to hunt for food. An arboreal species, the Gecko has the most amazing climbing abilities and is able to cling and climb on solid surfaces, even glass without a problem due to hundreds of tiny hairs called setae. Their enclosure should always contain lots of plants and branches. This Gecko species was first documented in 1866 by a French Zoologist and then rediscovered on an expedition in the area led by Robert Seipp, in 1994, having been thought to be extinct!
