The animal that's right for you

Whether you are a beginner or already own a reptile, here is a simple guide to helping you find the right reptile for you.

Giant African Millipede

Ease of care: Beginner

The Giant African Millipede (Archispirostreptus gigas) has roughly 250 legs in total across its body, although this changes with each molt the Millipede partakes in. The babies will molt a few hours into life and then several more times over the next 7 -10 years. Each molt will produce more body segments and legs. In their natural habitat, a terrestrial species, they live on the forest floor amongst the debris and leaf litter. In captivity provide good, moist substrate and leaf-litter in their enclosure.
