Chilean Rose Tarantula

The Chilean Rose Tarantula (Grammostola rosea) is probably the most common species of Tarantula available in American and European pet stores today. A terrestrial species, they live in the crevasses of rocks and trees. They naturally prefer dry desert scrubland regions but will roam around to find more suited areas for food and shelter. The male of the species has a life span of 3-7 years whereas females live for 20 years.
