The animal that's right for you

Whether you are a beginner or already own a reptile, here is a simple guide to helping you find the right reptile for you.

Red-Eyed Tree Frog

Ease of care: Intermediate

The Red-Eyed Tree Frog (Agalychnis callidryas) is a truly beautiful species, its body a vibrant green, flanked with blue, white and yellow. Their orange feet and toes are another striking feature but the most outstanding is their intense red eyes. Unlike many brightly coloured amphibians the Red-Eyed Tree Frog is not poisonous. As their name suggests, this frog is an arboreal species, which loves to spend time in trees and other plants so make sure to add lots of trees and plants to the enclosure. The Red-Eyed Tree Frog produces a skin toxin that has a bad taste to deter some predators.
