Amazon Milk Frog

The Amazon Milk Frog (Trachycephalus resinifictrix) is a large, arboreal frog which loves to spend time in trees and other plants. This frog takes its name from the sticky, white substance secreted through their skin when they feel threatened, not their colouration. This substance is poisonous to potential predators, but has no record of causing harm to humans. Their Latin name, Trachycephalus, refers to their long snouts used for pushing aside leaves and branches allowing them to hide during the day.
