Orchid Bark

HabiStat Orchid Bark is great for a wide range of species. It is typically used for tropical environments as it is great at holding humidity, but it can also be used for drier set-ups. 

Many reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates live amongst layers of fallen bark, leaf litter and organic debris found on forest floors. This substrate is made from natural bark chips and therefore can be used to replicate the loose, textured ground cover found in these habitats. 

In the wild, animals instinctively forage, burrow and hide within this type of substrate to seek out moisture and help regulate their body temperature. This bark encourages those same natural behaviours. 

This substrate is highly versatile, as it can be used hydrated to maintain higher humidity levels in tropical setups with regular misting, or used dry for more arid environments.

Directions for Use: 

Spread substrate evenly across vivarium base ensuring a depth of 2″ (5cm). Do not overfill if using underfloor heating. Spot clean daily, change or refresh every 12 months.
