Carbon Printed Heat Mat
- Highly efficient with low running costs
- Produces ultra-long wavelength infra-red heat
- Localised, even heat source
- Built in temperature cut out
- Ideal for maintaining night temperatures
- Always use a Thermostat
HabiStat Carbon Printed Heat Mats produce an ultra-long wavelength of infra-red heat
that is invisible to the human eye gently warming any surface it comes into contact with.
HabiStat heat Mats function similarly to the terrain found under the sun’s rays. Imagine a
rock, log or even the ground in direct sunlight, the sun will heat it, this heat is then
readmitted into the environment, via convection which then warms the air.
This means the gentle warmth that heat mats provide will allow animals to absorb heat
by sitting directly under, next to, or on top of the warmed areas through contact, as they
would in their natural environment. This therefore can help mimic ‘belly warmth’, a
natural process for many species, and will increase air temp.
Heat mats do get warm but provide a very gentle warmth which the animal can sit under
or on top of. If used under normal conditions the mats cannot burn the animal. It should
be noted that heat mats only provide a gentle background heat.
Heat Mats should always be used with the appropriate Thermostat such as the HabiStat
Mat Stat (https://habistat.com/product-details/thermostats/mat-stat) or HabiStat Pulse
Proportional Thermostat (https://habistat.com/product-details/thermostats/pulse-
thermostat) to regulate the temperature as required.
HabiStat carbon printed Heat mats also include an inbuilt thermal cutout switch. This in
addition to the use of an appropriate HabiStat Thermostat will help to protect the heating
element from any form of overheat. If the device detects a surface temperature that is
higher than stipulated for that heat mat, the mat will cut out. Power is removed from the
mat. The heat mat with ‘re-set’ when the mat has cooled back into the safe running
range.
This new form of printed mat has been designed with maximum surface area to heat and
safety in mind.
It should be noted that heat mats provide a gentle background heat. If you are keeping
animals that require higher temperatures, additional heat sources should be provided for
these species. Many diurnal or day active species of lizard require basking spots of a
higher temperature and localised heat to create a well-defined basking zone. Heat mats
are excellent heaters for many applications requiring moderated, nighttime or lightless
warmth.
Suitable for wall, roof or floor mounting – please refer to the instructions for controlling
and positioning the heat mat.
Once installed heating should be tested and monitored for a minimum of 48 hours prior
to the introduction of livestock. Remember never install heating and leave it unattended.
Thin and flat, meaning they can be well hidden within any enclosure.
