HabiStat Beech chips is a simple yet very effective substrate, perfect for many reptiles, birds and small mammals. Typically, these species naturally inhabit areas scattered with wood debris and coarse organic matter. Made from natural wood, this substrate provides a firm, clean surface that reflects the terrain of these habitats while remaining virtually dust-free for a cleaner enclosure.  

In the wild, animals use this type of ground cover to move across varied terrain, rest on dry surfaces and explore their surroundings. This substrate is here to help encourage those natural behaviours, stimulation and activity.

Spread substrate evenly across vivarium base ensuring a depth of 2″ (5cm). Do not overfill if using underfloor heating. Spot clean daily, change or refresh every 12 months.
