HabiStat’s Coir substrate is best used to replicate the moist, humid soils found in tropical and sub-tropical environments, especially where reptiles and amphibians thrive in soft, organic ground layers.
Made from 100% natural coconut husk that has been sourced from sustainable resources, this biodegradable, non-toxic and non-abrasive substrate provides a safe and comfortable base for a wide range of species. In the wild, animals burrow into humid soil to create shelter, retain moisture, and regulate their body temperature, with HabiStat coir this is made easier in your set-up!
The substrate wets quickly and holds water well. After a soak or misting it will slowly release this held moisture to maintain consistent high humidity levels, which is essential for tropical species. It also naturally contains lignin, helping to resist rotting and extend its usability, making it a practical and reliable choice for maintaining a stable habitat.
HabiStat’s coir is easy to clean and ready to use straight from the bag.
Our range of HabiStat substrate bags can be recycled at local supermarkets.
Mode d'emploi :
Spread substrate evenly across vivarium base ensuring a depth of 2″ (5cm). Do not overfill if using underfloor heating. Spot clean as required and replace regularly.
